Supported by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council, the Special Olympics Queensland State Games scheduled between Friday 28th April and Sunday 7th May 2017 brings athletes from across Australia to compete in 14 sports.

Our own, WA iSports Inc. athletes were the first to proudly walk into the Special Olympics Queensland State Games ceremony held at the Matthew Flinders Anglican College on Saturday 29th April.

There is expected to be over 500 athletes in the high quality competition over two weekends, with many more family and supporters cheering the athletes on.

The list of sports for the 2017 Special Olympics Games includes: swimming, athletics, basketball, Bocce, cricket, equestrian, football, golf, gymnastics, open water swimming, sailing, table tennis, tennis and ten pin bowling.

According to Special Olympics Queensland, ‘The aim is to provide every athlete with an opportunity to participate in training and competition events that challenge athletes to achieve their fullest potential, regardless of the athlete’s level of ability.’

Corporate First Aid Australia wishes the WA iSports Inc. athletes the very best of luck in their individual and team events.
