On the weekend of March 4 – 5, Hay Park in Bunbury was filled with active volunteer fire fighters contesting against each other for the 2017 State Open Fire Fighters Games.
In the front line, was our own, fit and feisty, Director Jane Goff.
Firefighters from South Hedland to Esperance were in full flight demonstrating their speed, strength, agility and teamwork using both traditional and modern day firefighting equipment.
‘A long standing tradition, the games are highly regarded among crews and provide an opportunity for volunteers from across the state to catch up with old mates’, said Bunbury Volunteer Fire and Rescue Captain, John Kowal.
‘As an ongoing client of Triple M Southwest, CFAA would like to thank them for showcasing the games on their Blackers for Breakfast show, and for their live broadcast on the day’, said Director Jane Goff.
The Bunbury Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services brigade, won the Overall Champion C-Class.
The mantra of the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services – ‘We do WHAT we can, WHEN we can, WHERE we can and to the VERY BEST of our ABILITY’ will be demonstrated again at 134th Annual Urban State Open Championships to be held in Bendigo from 11-13 March 2017.
The CFAA Team wishes ‘our Jane’ the very best of luck!
